According to aincient folk law, a black spaniel is a sign of the devil. Tody black spaniels are puropsly bred, but back then a black one was a fluke. Golden thingyer Spaniels suffer from thingyer Rage Syndrome, this mean they launch sudden and unprovoced attacks on other dogs, people and even their owners
The ghost of a 'black dog' is the most common sighting reported
Dogs wag their tails in fear, aswell as joy
Dog agression is most commonly a result of fear
THE MOST COMMON FALSE BELIEFS:
Labradors do not require much exercise - They need more than almost any other breed
Greyhounds need alot of exercise - When young they need about the same as a Jack Russell Terrier, when older, less is required
Guarding breeds such as Bullmastiffs, German Shepherds and Rottweilers are agressive - This is only true if they are bought up this way (as with any dog), they generally make great family pets, although the guarding instinct remains
Pit and English Bull Terriers are agressive - They will need socializeing with other dogs, but are devoted and loveing to people, especially children
Sighthounds can not be trusted with non-canine animals - When socialized they can live with cats, rodents and other pets
Jack Russell Terriers make great family pets - They can be very dog agressive and also snappy with people
White Boxers are deaf - They are more likley to be deaf than a Boxer of any other colour, but not all are. The breeder should do a deafness test before selling the puppy
Great Danes are the largest breed of dog - Actually it is the Irish Wolfhound, other very large dogs include the Scottish Deerhound, Borzoi, Newfoundland and Greyhound, to name just a few
Rescue centers are just for mutts - Actually the mojority of dogs ending up in rescue centers are pedigree, and are there for reasons such as "their owner emigrated", "they had a baby", "he was confined to a wheel-chair". There are also many single breed rescue centers who deel with a spercific breed only and always get unwanted pedigrees in. The most common breed of dog to end up in a rsecue center is a German Shepherd, this is bad as German Shepherd inparticular are prone to kennel stress and many have to be put down as they become mentally ill in the kennels
It is normal for a dog's breath to smell - This can be a result of internal problems which need to be checked over by a vet
A fat dog is a well loved dog - This is very bad for the dog and results in premature death
Spey/castrateing causes ilnesses for the dog - Not at all, the dog is usually healthier
